Out of the MATRIX was developed by Rev. Tony Senf, Spiritual Director of Unity Center of the Heights in Cleveland Heights, OH (of course, being used in the public school system, Out of the MATRIX is not about religion) and Chris Lauretig, JTC, TTW and Special Education Intervention Specialist at CEVEC in Highland Heights, OH. The synergistics of their skills, experience and teaching styles is greatly responsible for development and impact of Out of the MATRIX.
Rev. Tony Senf is the founder of The Miracle Center and New Era Network, a transformational training organization. He began his first two years of serious Spiritual study as a Baptist seminary student, made the leap into metaphysics and is currently working on his Doctorate in that field of study. He has been studying A Course In Miracles for over 20 years and his unique, energetic and somewhat humorous teaching style enhances his ability to convey the seemingly complicated teachings of A Course In Miracles in a very simple, understandable way. The responses and participation of those who have attended Rev. Tony’s classes has been nothing short of enthusiastic.
Rev. Tony’s formal education includes Behavioral Science, Psychology, Philosophy, Metaphysics, Theology, Ontology, Cosmetology, and Tai Chi. He has worked with experts in transformational training, psychology, counseling, science, and metaphysics to produce a new technology in gaining awareness of advanced forgiveness presented in a weekend intensive workshop...Beyond Forgiveness. This same foundation is being used to formulate other workshops, such as Creating Holy Relationships and Out of the MATRIX.
Rev. Tony currently serves as Spiritual Director of Unity Center of the Heights in Cleveland Heights, OH. Prior to becoming a Reverend, Tony's experience includes over 30 years of successful entrepreneurial experience in business development, marketing, advertising, sales, team building, training, recruiting, public speaking, customer service, project coordination, and vertically integrated compensation plan development. He focused on the fitness industry for twelve years as a consultant, trainer and Tai Chi instructor, and was the owner of a chain of diet - fitness and behavior modification centers. While there, Tony created an exercise program for which he wrote the music, produced and directed an exercise tape, then produced a TV pilot and was featured on the nationally syndicated TV program, PM Magazine. Tony also achieved a high level of success as owner/manager in the Internet, Travel, Telecom, and Environmental industries. In the military, Tony served as a U.S. Navy Nuclear Submarine Sonar Technician and Ship's Diver, where he earned a Polaris Patrol Pin with two stars, a Presidential Unit Citation and was the drug counselor for the submarine flotilla in which he served.
A major purpose in Rev. Tony's life is to teach people to live a fully expressed life, first of all by demonstrating it in his daily living and next through his study groups, workshops and intensives, which focus on personal responsibility and the realization of an individual’s full potential through an identification with their inherent limitless nature. Rev. Tony believes that with a "little willingness" and vigilance, anyone can live a life they truly love, expressed with passion and full participation.
Chris Lauretig is a lifetime resident of Cleveland and a graduate of Cleveland Heights High School. After graduating from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio with a degree in Political Science and a Minor in Philosophy, Chris operated a Baskin Robbins franchise in Cleveland Heights for 8 years. In 1995, Chris returned to his alma mater and coached baseball at Cleveland Heights High School. He was the Junior Varsity coach for 4 years and the Head Varsity coach for 5 years. Upon the birth of his second child, Chris resigned from his coaching duties to spend more time with his family. Chris is also a board member of Shared Vision, a nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating people’s spiritual growth.
In 1998, Chris enrolled at Cleveland State University and earned a teaching certificate as a Special Education Intervention Specialist. In the fall of 1999, Chris was hired at the Cuyahoga East Vocational Educational Consortium (CEVEC), in Highland Heights, OH, as a Job Training Coordinator (JTC). As a part of his job, Chris was required to earn a vocational certificate, the Transition to Work Endorsement, from Kent State University. His duties included helping students with disabilities find community-based employment and coordinating the students’ training on those jobs through the use of job coaches. He also helped coordinate the students’ transition from school to the adult world, often through linking students and their families with adult service agencies for support.
In 2002, while still working at CEVEC, Chris was hired as the JTC to startup a vocational program that was housed at a horse barn in Geauga County. This program consisted of students with typical intelligence, but a history of academic and social failure – in academic terminology, these students were labeled Emotionally Disturbed (ED). Although the program, now called Alpha Academy, has shifted locations and turned into an all-day program, with an academic component, Chris is still running the program and coordinating the efforts of four fellow staff members, as well as 14 students.
The Alpha Academy program has always been set up to facilitate the turnaround of these “failing” students. The Alpha Academy staff recognizes that the child does not fail… in some way the system failed to meet the student's needs. Therefore, the students who attend Alpha Academy receive a very individualized education. From the beginning, they are encouraged to understand and operate from the premise that their success is their responsibility. Chris, in a unique partnership with Rev. Tony Senf, has taken this concept to the next level with the “Out of the MATRIX” training during the 2007-08 school year. This philosophy emphasizes that the students are responsible for much more than just their own success. They are responsible for their feelings, how they experience the world and what types of people and events they attract into their lives.
